National

In the national arena, Mirim-Brasil is a member of the Brazilian Association of Nongovernmental Organizations, formed in 1991. The constitution of ABONG resulted from the trajectory of a pioneer segment of nongovernmental organizations whose political profile is characterized by: a tradition of resistance against authoritarianism; contribution to the consolidation of new political actors and social movements; the search for environmentally sustainable and socially fair development alternatives; an engaged struggle against exclusion, misery, and social inequalities; the promotion of rights, the construction of citizenship and the defense of ethics in politics in order to consolidate democracy.

In recent years, as a consequence of its work, ABONG has had notable influence on organizations’ and social movements’ interactions with governmental institutions, and has representation in public policy councils, national committees, and forums.

International

With the purpose of globalizing child and adolescent rights, Mirim-Brasil acts together with international organizations promoting and taking part in events such as congresses, conferences, meetings and exchanges. Mirim-Brasil is vice president of the International Falcon Movement – Socialist Education International (IFM-SEI), a worldwide network composed of 60 entities.

Through this representation, the entity has been collaborating with organizations and youth platforms from Latin America, Africa, and Europe. Beyond this, the NGO has been developing projects in youth leadership formation in the struggle against HIV/AIDS with organizations from Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia.
