Principal Results
In 18 years of operation, with many projects and actions in the areas of childhood and adolescence, support for the strengthening of community ties, and intense international action, we can say that:
- Eradication of child labor and sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, urban violence, teen pregnancy, education, health, environment, adoption, access to justice, the right to life, child and youth participation in decision making, and the fight against HIV/AIDS were some of the most tackled topics.
- 16 thousand children and adolescents have directly benefitted from artistic, cultural and educational, child and youth leadership, and computer literacy activities, in Brazil.
- 400 adolescents obtained their first job.
- Around 97% of adolescents did not return to crime after the Assisted Liberty Program for child delinquents.
- 80 community organizations gained legal status which strengthens tremendously their actions, in Pernambuco, Brazil.
- 108 international events in 48 countries had a total representation of 232 people from Mirim-Brasil, 130 of which were children and adolescents, and 102 adults.
- Of 100% of the resources received: 30% – Brazilian government; 15% – private companies; 25% – personal donations; 30% – international cooperation.
