Our team
The people who make Mirim-Brasil’s struggle a reality are from diverse social groups, possessing complementary abilities, who work together towards the common good. Mirim has participation from children, adults, youth, and community leaders, as well as activists and volunteers, professionals and students from diverse areas, such as anthropology, communication, law, nursing, economics, accounting, medicine, sociology, pedagogy, and international relations. The general team is composed of 40 people, balanced between men and women, with space to propose and dissent within a vision of collective construction.
GENERAL ASSEMBLY
In accordance with the Civil Code, Mirim-Brasil is organized into a General Assembly which makes all of the organization’s decisions and, among other responsibilities, elects the Directing, Fiscal and Consultative Councils.

INTERNAL STRUCTURE
Looking to best attend to day-to-day necessities, an internal functioning structure was created with the goal of optimizing the division labor and redistributing work and responsibilities, so as to make the decision-making process democratic, participatory, and productive. This new internal structure is built from a Collegiate Coordination Committee composed of one representative from each of the following coordination committees:
- Child and Youth;
- Administrative-financial;
- Projects and Mobilization;
- Community Networking;
- International;
- Communication.

For Mirim-Brasil, the Communication is an important way in the social construction of knowledge, identities and cultures. The work of the Communication Coordination of Mirim-Brasil is not limited to the press service, to the mass media. In our NGO, Communication is used as a strategy for institutional strengthening, aimed at uniting the people who are part of Mirim-Brasil and insert it into the public debate on social issues, especially those relating to childhood and youth.
